Pipe

This time I screwed everything into place and took a look at the piping. If you just try to close the case now, you'll crush the pipework against the radiator and your day will go sour. The trick is to get the twist on the pipes just right so that when you close the door, they move into the position you want them to.

Test Fitting Pipes

Looking at the picture above, I've put a clockwise twist at the radiator end on the longer return pipe, and an anti-clockwise twist on the feed pipe. This causes the return pipe to curl around as the case closes, while the feed moves over to the right. Care needs to be taken not to over-twist things, but once you get it right you can pretty much forget about the pipes when closing the case. This also helps to prevent the pipes kinking. The standard stuff doesn't kink too easily, but it can, and I have noticed that even with my setup like this I have got a minor kink in the short feed pipe after a month or so. It doesn't constrict the flow badly though, so unless it gets worse I'm not going to be replacing it.
