Get The Marigolds On

Before popping things back inside, it was cleaning time. The case was vacuumed, wiped down with a damp cloth, vacuumed again, wiped down again, until there wasn't a speck of metal, dust or muck left in sight. I found that even after cleaning once, rubbing a finger along the metalwork would reveal more muck, so you need to make a very thorough job of it.

Happily, the radiator went into position with no troubles and, for paranoia's sake, I checked that the rest of the case was still happy and working.

Test Fitting

Still holds the caddy!

I'd been hoping that a caddy would still be able to sit in position, and it would seem that there is indeed enough of the original mounting points left to keep it in place. The locking mount is gone now, so if you took your G4 on a bumpy journey it would probably fall off, but for normal use you wouldn't have any troubles popping the drives back in here. Not that I would now, mind. :o)

After giving the rest of the case a check over I found that the door was happy and nothing bashed into anything else, so it was looking good. The 102mm diameter for the hole is spot on, giving plenty of room for air to move through without impacting the rest of the case. But now that radiator needs attaching to something...
